Reflect on This, O Human
And autumn bade us all farewell at last, Shed all her leaves into the frozen ground, And naked went... though she had tried so fast To outshine all at rendezvous's sound!
But everything has seasons, do not grieve, We cannot overturn the coming cold. Just dress yourselves more warmly, I believe, While keeping faith and love as we grow old.
God has His laws, eternal and unbent, He will not alter them, come what may be. As seasons end when their appointed time is spent, So comes the Hour of Judgment, certainly.
All passes in this transient earthly sphere, And mortal life must end for everyone. A hundred percent—no exceptions here, No one can know what waits when day is done!
You can make plans as much as you desire, But all will happen as the Lord sees fit. So live your life here, free from anxious fire, There's no use burning in a state of fret.
Just trust in Jesus, let Him be your guide, Your earthly life rests in His loving hands. All those who walk the path of Christ, who tried, Shall live with Him in Heaven's glowing lands!
There is always choice, but God has given Word, Unchanging, powerful in all it speaks. Whoever takes the path of Christ our Lord, Finds salvation that eternal life seeks.
But understand, we all must realize today, The time is drawing to its final close. Believe me, God's will holds supreme sway, To lead us to our Maker—this He knows.
Life and death stand ever at our side, The line between them thin as human hair. It's hard to threaten some with hell's dark tide— God has not prepared it for the fair.
But there will go only volunteers by choice, Those who rejected God's eternal truth. Those who traded God for gold's false voice. Reflect on this, O human, in your youth...
