Alone with the Lord

Lyubov Bondarenko

I rejoice in Thy presence here, Thou pourest blessings without end! I love, O Lord, to hold Thee near, For Thou dost know my thoughts, my friend.

And so there is no point to hide, I speak with Thee in openness— That Thou art truly Life and Light beside, I wish no other life to possess.

Wherever my eyes may turn to see, All things around belong to Thee, And wonderfully hast Thou made all! My soul doth sing its hymn of praise For this blue sky and stars that call, For fields that stretch through all my days!

For berries ripening in the garden's keep, The cherries and the bird-cherries grown… For water lilies white and deep, The rustling leaves of trees full-grown.

For all, for all I thank Thee, Lord, For all that lives and breathes around— 'Twas Thou who gave us this reward… And so with love my heart is bound: My God, my Lord, forever bound to Thee we'll be…
