The “New Times” mobile apps
This section applies to the “New Times” mobile apps for Android and iOS.
What data we collect
The app works without registration: no account is required, and while you are simply reading we receive no data about you.
We receive data in one case only — when you choose to submit a review of a collection. The review form asks for your name and the review text, and optionally an email address and a phone number. That data is sent to our server and reviewed by a moderator.
How we use it
Your name and the review text are published on the collection page once a moderator approves them. Email address and phone number are never published — we use them only to contact you about your review.
What stays on your device only
Favourites, the page you stopped on, font size and the selected language are stored locally on your device. We neither receive nor store any of it.
What we do not do
We use no analytics or crash-reporting services, we serve no advertising and work with no ad networks. We do not share or sell your data to third parties. The app collects no location data and does not read your contacts, photos or files.
Third-party content
Videos play through the embedded YouTube player (Google LLC), which may show YouTube advertising and set its own cookies. Google’s privacy policy applies while you watch: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Transfer and storage
The app’s connection to our server is encrypted (HTTPS). Reviews are kept on our servers until you ask us to delete them.
Deleting your data
The app has no accounts, so until you submit a review there is nothing to delete. If you have submitted a review and want it removed together with the contact details you gave, write to [email protected] and we will delete it within 30 days.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
