When My Spirit Grows Weary or Alone

Liubov Berdysheva

When my spirit grows weary or alone, When in my breast there burns no former flame, Come to me in Your love, my God! O Holy Spirit! Give me life again!

When my path lies unclear before me And sometimes doubts press heavy on my heart, I beg You: Lord, come near! O Gracious God, show me the way!

When in the night I weep before You For those I love and hold most dear, Come, my Comforter, O Holy Spirit! And grant my soul peace in earthly sorrow.

My path is thorny, thorns surround me here and there… But I can see my goal—and homeward I proceed! I know, O Father, that You wait for me, Where I shall dwell with You eternally!
