Though I Perform Great Deeds

Liubov Berdysheva

Though I perform great deeds so grand, And serve with body, soul, and mind, Yet if love in my heart is bland,— No profit there shall I find!

Though prophecy's gift is mine to own, And all the mysteries I see, Yet if love in my soul's unknown,— A sounding gong—I'm nothing, be!

Though all my wealth I give away, And sacrifice myself for all, Yet if love's absent from my way,— No profit there when sorrows call…

Lord! My soul is troubled now! Grant me to burn with Love of Thine! To zealously before You bow And let my passion for Thee shine!

---GOD, FILL ME WITH YOURSELF---

God, fill me with Yourself alone! With Your Word and truth divine, So walking on this earthly zone, I see Your glory through my line!

That open-hearted I may be, To hold what You desire to say, That I may do Your will with glee, Your glory contemplate each day…

Let my heart be ready still For communion, Lord, with You! Let Your love within fulfill, Your heavenly light shine bright and true!

Help me, Father, precious, dear, To be a vessel pure for Thee! That walking on this path down here, I'll praise You, Lord, eternally!
