I Write Poetry Not on Paper

Aleksei Dunaev

I write poetry not on paper, Not on computer do I write. I ask the Lord for courage, And inspiration I invite.

For each day, fate's small segment, The Lord bestows, the source of might, The balm of pardon for the torment, When foes have wounded with their spite.

He gives me hope and consolation, To Him my prayers I do raise. Through burning contemplation's motion, I write my verses on my heart's page.
