Hope

Aleksei Dunaev

When darkness falls the night, A star shines ever brighter. I want to give you light, To dream of summer, lighter,

So that the bitter freeze Won't chill your weary heart. Though snowstorms come and seize— Hope warms us, sets apart!

Let wind come howling wild, Disturbing and alarming— Hope's voice, forever mild: "The Lord will keep us from all harming!"
