The Lord's Dwelling

Nadezhda Koriaka

(Upon Psalm 83)

O, how lovely, how desired Are Your dwellings, my Lord! And they thirst, forever inspired, My soul, my heart—by Your word...

And blessed are those, divinely blest, Who dwell within Your holy place! By praise they're ever manifest, Embraced by fire of Your grace.

They glorify the might of God, The power of the King of kings, You give for happiness, O rod Of joy! Love's embracing wings!

And only those who truly trust, Whose strength is rooted deep in You! Whose hearts are turned through righteous gust To their Protector—God most true!

Though through the valley dark they go— Springs of water burst in that place! And blessings find them, even so Amid their trials and distress's face!

From strength to strength they ever come, Before their God they hasten near... And whatsoever life may sum, On God their eyes are fixed and clear!

The Lord's own dwellings are desire! Blessed those who dwell within that place! Tested, constant—ever higher, From them God builds His dwelling-place!
