Silence Reigned Around

Vladymyr Shyshko

Silence reigned around, The sun behind the mountain passed, And my soul gave thanks profound For shelter and for peace steadfast— The mercy of the Holy blessed.

My Lord, my joy and treasure, To you I gave my life. With Holy mercy's measure I was blessed through earthly strife.

I chose a path uncharted, Known only unto Christ, And on that way I've started To that land of paradise.

Brothers, sisters, offer Your lives unto the Lord. Scorning falsehood's coffer, Yield not to evil's sword— Enter then God's ward.
