The Pious Woman Is Kind

Kindness is the very essence of a pious woman's character, And it seems simple and clear. But sometimes it is difficult to show.

I have noticed more than once that when men have disagreements, They overcome them quite quickly and move on. Women, however, often harbor resentment and live with it long. Perhaps it is because women are more bound by their feelings and emotions, But you must not be guided by them in your relationships— Choose kindness instead, in any circumstance And toward any person!

Remember Euodia and Syntyche from Philippians, chapter 4? Paul calls upon these quarreling women to "agree in the Lord." Though they were praised for their earnest labor for the Gospel, They entered church history as two irreconcilable disputants.

Do you labor in the church, yet find it hard to forgive And show love to those who have hurt you? It may happen that, like Euodia and Syntyche, People will remember your ill will more than your significant works of service. Do not allow unkindness to reign in your spirit And destroy your influence.

Meditate upon the list of heavenly garments That will make you truly beautiful—from Colossians 3:12–14: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, Which binds them all together in perfect unity." Our God is kind and good!

Now think about when and how you sow into your future, What you will become in old age. A kind grandmother—this is a blessing!
