I Shall Surely Take This Mountain

Natalyia Lansere

I shall surely take this mountain, I shall train myself to be unbending. And, trusting in the mighty God, I shall not remain upon its slope.

I shall surely take this mountain, I shall not leave it unconquered. It matters not how soon it comes, I shall glorify God's Name upon its peak.

I shall surely take this mountain, My Creator shall train me. It must be taken without needless strife Simply because it stands and exists.

I shall surely take this mountain, Leaving all pity far below. The mountain stands as silent reproach, Seven times I fall, the eighth I rise.

I shall surely take this mountain, And every step shall be a victory. Its summit shall become my foothold, And its peak shall lie beneath my feet.

I shall surely take this mountain, The path to triumph lies before me. And I shall plant upon its summit firm God's victorious banner of the Cross.
