The Beloved Must Be Known

Natalyia Lansere

The beloved must be known and understood, Not reshaped to what we would prefer. Know when to speak, when silent stood, Lest harm to soul and body both occur.

The beloved need our quiet aid, Not endless words to fill the air, But gentle faith, a light displayed, To light the path and show we care.

The beloved must be held in worth, That soul entrusted to our keep, With whom we walk this life on earth, Growing together, climbing steep.

The beloved we must guard and shield, From wind and heat and bitter cold, Help them to fight, help them to yield To grace, and wipe tears manifold,

And... breathe together, air as one, Eyes meeting in a gentle smile. Hand holding hand, till we have won And climbed the narrow, upward mile...
