You Fluttered Like a Bird

Vladymyr Ulchenkov

You fluttered like a bird in flight, From one end to the other. All your knocking goes for nothing— No one opens up the door!

You wanted to curse and swear, Confused about the dates and times. You knocked on lawyers' offices, And on doors of those in power.

You sought shelter once again, Turned to family and to kin. Useless! All so very useless— Still no answer at the door.

Perhaps we must learn acceptance, God commands all things above! It is He who knocks upon you, But no one opens up the door…
