Humility

Leonyd Shatokhyn

"…God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." 1 Peter 5:5

Humility without faith cannot exist, While pride is unbelief's bitter seed. Only those who trust can still resist Their flesh corrupted by their sinful deed.

Humility's not weakness, soft, or mild, Not compromise, not cowardice's way. Humility's the courage, undefiled, To God the Creator to obey!

Jesus Himself's our model and our light In every age, for every nation's call. In humble suffering for our plight, He went to pay redemption's toll.

Humility and mercy, obedience true— These three companions of authentic love; O how our lives would be made new If these could guide us from above!

But worldly pride brings hearts no peace, All clamorous falls spring from its seed. It never seeks for sin's release, And God opposes pride indeed!

To humble hearts God's grace is given, Forgiveness comes with "Live!" divine. The Lord deserves all praise from heaven— Our answering love and faith that shine!
