Let Us Step Away from Screens

Leonyd Shatokhyn

Let us step away from screens And share a conversation over tea. We speak more often, strange as it seems, With one another, separated by glass, you and me.

Absorbed, like children small and young By toys and games we play. We've plunged our heads where webs are strung, Or nets have caught us where we stay.

How good it is when we sing as one, When biblical language stirs the soul, And share the gospel's blessed news as it's spun, And trust that God is with us, whole!

Let us step away from screens, Let busyness recede from sight With hope that Christ is in these scenes To lead our hearts' discourse tonight.
