God always has something, Something to tell you. You rush on your way, He hastens to embrace…
Turn to prayer Briefly in the morning, And He will bless you, Know that the time has come.
He will open in His Word What He wished to say. Do not rush to race ahead, Though you have much to do.
And you will hear gently In the middle of the day: "My son, have you not forgotten To glorify me?
Spend just a quarter hour With Me alone, And there will be blessing for you, Joy and peace!
The day will pass, perhaps, Better than ever before, Even the foul weather Will trouble you not…
And when the autumn Sun has burned away at last, God always has something, Something to tell you.
