That Day

Halyna Vezykova

We sit upon imagined thrones, In kingdoms of our proud creation, While darkness seeks, with cunning moans, To turn us from our true salvation.

Life is pleasure—taste it well, Yet find yourself deceived, adrift— Your house stands bare where riches dwell, Your soul bereft of light and gift.

You fight, while evil reigns on earth, Without the Lord—despair and gray, You seek comfort, seeking rebirth, But only faith can change the way.

Faith in the sacrifice of Christ alone Unlocks the gates to vast Eternity, When we, redeemed, shall claim our throne At the Heir's feast in majesty.

And the most righteous King of kings Shall rightfully ascend in splendor, His glory all such brilliance brings That earthly crowns grow weak and tender.

That day shall bring forth peace and grace, All strife and battles shall be ended, That day we'll sing throughout all space, With universal voices blended.

From all our children's lives that day Fear and tempests shall depart, Their laughter in the fields at play Shall fill our hearts with boundless heart.

That day… For all the world's forlorn, The universe's breadth unfolds, Answer Christ's call, be newly born, He waits and seeks. Is it you He holds?
