The Kingdom of Heaven Draws Near

Lyubov Okhman

The Kingdom of Heaven draws near, With meek footsteps—do you hear it coming? Opening its arms to the cross, Jesus gently calls to you.

How long will you sit upon the fig tree And look down upon Christ from above? He has waited in the unadorned upper room, God's mercy toward you is great.

Do not heed the judgments of men, Stop wavering—run! The doors of salvation are opening, Only direct your steps of faith toward Him.

For today is a time of grace— There is still time to change all things. Look upon Jesus crucified, And begin to love Him with your heart.

Overcoming the barriers of doubt— Trust in the Hand from Heaven, So that each beating of your heart Becomes a light in your life's diary.

Hurry, while the Savior passes by the fig tree Walking with the crowd along the way, He gazes upon you and prays for you, He yearns for your meeting today!
