Autumn Thoughts in Morning Frost

Nina Tikhonina

Autumn thoughts in morning frost, Trembling memory—back to fall, Worn-out fates in lines now crossed, Where partings come when least we call.

I touched the fading leaves with tender hands... The leaves for some reason besprinkled the trail... Memory scratches in my soul like cats' demands. Where did I catch this melancholy's veil?

The past has sunk into the sodden autumn, Remembrances hide themselves in dreams. A friend spoke of some silly, worn-out autumn song... Sky, splash with the blue silence of all things.

I'll sip the Grace that's been bestowed upon me. All those with treachery—I'll bless them all. Simply rescued, simply in love, I see, Simply to love with such strength is my call!

Autumn thoughts that memory keeps calling, Dance like waltzes through the falling leaves. I'll remember all the best, the very best, In autumn's heart, forgiveness I conceive.
