Vitaliy Polozov
The writer Vitaly Polozov is a Christian and the author of many books about Christians. Based on real events, his novels depict the era of persecution that took place in the 20th century in the former Soviet Union. Although the books recount the persecution of Christians in this atheistic country, they, like all works by a Christian writer, reflect the victory of light over darkness, of truth over lies, and of good over evil. And in this struggle, man’s sole hope in the Lord Jesus Christ and His transforming power is affirmed. In the former Soviet Union, Vitaly Polozov is known to readers for his humorous and satirical stories. He was published in central and republican periodicals. And in 2005, the magazine “Faith and Life” of the “Light in the East” mission announced a contest for the best short story. The winner turned out to be Vitaly Polozov, an author previously unknown to Christian readers. None of the jury members knew the author; his story “I Called Out to You” was met with some surprise (where had such a remarkable writer been hiding?) and joy. This almost autobiographical story marked the beginning of the author’s Christian literary career. Very quickly, he won the attention and affection of many, many readers.
