Vitaliy Polozov
Vitaly Polozov (07.10.1942 – 23.01.2026) was a Christian writer whose prose is well known to readers of the magazine “Faith and Life”. His name came to readers in 2005, when an author unknown until then won the magazine’s contest with the story “I Called Out to You”. That almost autobiographical story marked the beginning of his Christian literary career.
He wrote as though trying to make up for lost years, and often said he regretted coming to Christ so late. In Christian prose he filled the gap left after the passing of Nikolai Vodnevsky. The mission “Light in the East” received from him the rights to publish all of his works — the first being his translation from English of “The Davidson Affair” (2006). Today his books fill whole shelves in home and church libraries.
The interview “A conversation with the writer”, in which Vitaly Polozov speaks about himself at length, appeared in issue 4/2013 of “Faith and Life”. It can be read here: online.fliphtml5.com/bzklq/anxl.
Vitaly Polozov departed after a grave illness, survived by his wife, his son and his daughter. The earth grows dimmer by one candle, and heaven richer by one star… And that his creative legacy is a classic, there is no doubt.
