I was baptized into the Evangelical Christian Baptist Brotherhood in 1975. I have lived in the United States since 1990. My father was Latvian, and my mother's passport says she is Russian (in reality, more Belarusian). Although I never lived in Latvia, my unforgettable father taught me Latvian. My native language, of course, remains Russian. I recently translated Isabella Alden (Penzie)'s book "Unto the End" from English. This Christian writer is already familiar to Russian readers through her books "EsterPid," "Julia Reed," and "Tim and His Lamp." I am now waiting for the Lord to send me a publisher who will publish my translation. "Unto the End" tells the story of Eunice, the daughter of a rural pastor, who marries a young man from the city, also a church member, Burton Landis. But she is cruelly disappointed. Yet she remained faithful to her unworthy husband and managed to raise her children for the Lord. I believe this book will be very helpful in our time, when divorce among God's children is becoming, alas, almost as common as in the sinful world. This excerpt begins with Eunice Landis beginning to see what her husband really was.
