Hennadii Prosianko is a pastor and chaplain, the author of “I Was There. The Diary of a Chaplain”. He was born and grew up in Kurakhove in Donbas. In early 2015, while the war in Donbas was going on, he began serving in front-line towns and villages together with his brother Viacheslav and his wife Liuba: bringing bread and humanitarian aid, handing out Christian literature, praying and talking with civilians and with soldiers on the front line. He published the diary of those years in Kyiv in 2023; the book has also appeared in Ukrainian and in English.
