Psalm 1
Blessed is not he who knows of God, But blessed is he who lives in God, Not he who reads the Bible's word, But he who keeps the law he's heard!
He walks, he stands, he rests his soul, Sits not with those whose sins take toll, Ignores the whispers of the flesh, To trust such counsel does not mesh.
By day and night on Word he feeds, Like trees beside the flowing reeds, Living beneath the holy shroud That the Great God spreads wide and loud.
In hope and faith and trust so true, His soul endeavors to break through, In days of earthly pilgrimage To live with worth on life's great stage!
But those who drink their sins like water Shall fall when judgment's drawing shorter, Awaits them judgment far from God— Like dust before the wind they'll trod.
"Come unto Me," the Savior calls, Blessed is he in whom Christ's thralls, The wicked's path leads to the grave, While the righteous reach heaven's wave!
