John 11:32: "Lord! If Only You Had Been Here"

Yuryi Sypko

Lord! If only You had been here!!! This tragic desolation would not have befallen me.

But how did it come to pass that I am left alone? Why?

Why is the Lord not with me?

Perhaps I have fallen behind Him? Perhaps I have strayed from the narrow path? Turned away from Him? Been seduced by passion, offered to me by the deceiver.

How wonderful it would be to make bread from stones! How fascinating! I could feed the whole world! Now that is work! A worthy deed!

True, I forgot in doing so about the Bread that came down from heaven. Forgot the Word proceeding from the mouth of God. And remained alone with stones. Thus—emptiness.

Listen, my friend, if you are in anguish, disappointed and alone, it is time to open your heart to Jesus.
