I was born on July 28, 1961, in Stryi, Lviv Oblast. I was involved with music and singing from an early age. At the age of six, I was already singing in a choir as a top voice. Professionally pursuing music was difficult at that time, as my father was a pastor at the time, and in Western Ukraine, this was fraught with consequences, and my father was constantly persecuted. Even in a regular comprehensive school, we were not allowed to study properly due to our ideological beliefs. There were four children in our family, and we were neither Pioneers nor Komsomol members. There was even an attempt to deprive my parents of their parental rights. But, thank God, in such difficult circumstances, He gave us talents, abilities, and the desire to realize them. I have been playing the guitar since I was seven. Since I really enjoyed this activity, I was very interested in creativity and learned a lot from professional musicians who lived in our city. Later, God revealed another talent in me – composing music. Our church had a musical group called "Day by Day." For 14 years, we officiated at weddings from early spring to late fall, and at that time, Christian weddings were huge gatherings of 1,000 to 1,500 people. We traveled widely—to Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova. We also gained a lot of practice. The need for new songs arose. Sometimes we spontaneously composed songs that are still sung to this day. In 1978, I was baptized. In 1990, my best friend, a professional guitarist from whom I learned a lot, Stepan Vasilishin, came to God. He worked in many musical groups throughout Ukraine. Now Stepan Vasilishin is known in Ukrainian musical circles as a studio guitarist. In 1991, he and I formed a band called "Vuzenka Stezhka." We played together: me on bass guitar, and Stepan on guitar and sequencer. Together we recorded many songs. In 1991, we organized the first Christian music festival in Chisinau, which brought together about 40 groups and performers. In 1999, I recorded my first album, "Three Eternal Strings." Now I frequently travel with evangelistic ministries. I work extensively at children's and youth camps in Moldova. I serve as a music minister at the "Light to the World" church in Chisinau, Moldova, and at the Christian Charity Association for the Rehabilitation of Orphans. A new album, "On the Other Shore," is scheduled for release in 2002; it should be out by the New Year.
