I visited Tanya every day for two weeks. We talked with her on different occasions

Aleksandr Valuiskyi

I visited Tanya every day for two weeks. We talked with her on various topics, remembering Socrates, Father Ignacio and the teachings of the Catholic Church, the earthly life of Jesus Christ. It seemed to me that she began to have more confidence in accepting her reality. The fifth stage seems to have been completed. However, this stage was completed exactly as far as it can be completed at nineteen years old.

Literally the day before discharge, I found her in tears. It was late in the evening. Before me, her parents and father Ignacio visited her. But now everyone was gone, and she was crying.

- What's happened?

She recounted the visit and their conversation.

– Christ suffered, died and rose again. I am also suffering, I will soon die and... I will also be resurrected? I shared my doubts with our bishop. I was frank with him. And he said that unbelief is the most terrible sin and that I am Unbeliever Thomas. Maybe I’m similar to Thomas, but he also doubted, although he was a disciple of Christ.

– Doubt is an integral part of faith. We've already talked about this. But is there anything else that bothers you? Isn't it?

– I don’t know, it just seemed that Father Ignacio was annoyed. And the parents were upset. And I just shared my experiences.

I took her hand. She smiled.

- Don't be upset. They love you and say what they believe. You can be sure of this. Christ once asked the father of a sick child if he believed in healing. And then the father answered: “Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief.” Maybe this is your case...

– And what to do with this?

– The same thing he did. Ask for help to overcome doubts. God is the Father. If you sincerely ask him for something...

Tanya looked at me questioningly.
