I Entered Your Temple

I entered quietly Your temple, God... My soul feels such a lightness, such a grace! Here I can open up before Your nod In trembling silence, in this holy place.

A child bows down upon her knees to pray— Her open heart the Father's eyes perceive. This moment blessed in every sacred way, For You, O Maker, purify and cleave.

All secrets hidden in my soul I pour, For I believe and know: You'll pardon sin. All pain from my soul's depths I drain and store— Your love shall heal and soothe each hurt within.

My prayer flows pure and honest from my breast— I bare my sin before my Father's sight, All that in thoughtlessness I manifest: "Forgive, forgive Your sheep, Lord, give me light."
