Silhouettes of Eternity
In skies of tender blue and soft, In starlit gaze of night's design, In lightning's fearful flash aloft Eternity looks into mine.
That gaze will warm my deepest soul, A song within my spirit rings. And hope, in its divine control, To quiet prayer new meaning brings.
Through generous tears of deep despair, Through honest, candid words of heart, Life's silhouettes of vast and rare Eternity play their part.
The strength in them—beyond all measure, It fills my soul with sacred dread. This depth of revelation's treasure I must fathom with my thread.
And when in death's own darkened vale I gaze into death's hollow eyes, God's love I'll see and never fail— The love that grants eternity's prize.
It warms my soul with endless care, A song within my spirit rings. And hope, in its divine control, To quiet prayer new meaning brings.
