Psalm 108
I have been strengthened in my heart, O God, made strong! From my lips come praise to You and song! I will not close them even in the night, For I desire to thank You and give You might. O awake, O harp! O lyre, rejoice! Star of dawn, awaken at my voice! We need with joyful melodies to sing And praise our God to every tribe and thing. God's mercy is greater than the sky above. He gives to faithful ones all that they love. And God's own truth ascends unto the clouds— And the righteous one receives his dower's shrouds. O God, arise—let earth behold from far The glory of Your name, as shines a star! Your glory's light, so singular and true, Let it embrace the earth and all things new! From us, O Lord, all wickedness remove And answer us, and show us all Your love. For all men know that Your hand doth hold For righteous ones a blessing to unfold, That only God's own strength and care divine Can open to the soul the gates that shine. You help us, strengthen us through all our days, While human help is but a fleeting haze. I beg You, do not leave us, God most high, For who will love us if You pass us by?!
