Praise and Thanksgiving to Jesus Christ
Praise and thanksgiving to Jesus Christ For mercy that He gives us every day, For the fact that a living and simple prayer, A child's prayer, our Father hears. Sometimes the heart cries out to God, Sometimes prayer comes in quiet silence, Sometimes it is short, swift as a moment, Sometimes it is slow, in long waiting. Prayer is not rich in ornate words, Prayer is not phrases cleverly chosen, Prayer is somehow like a song and singing, Where the very text alone is not enough. Prayer is the heart's distant flight In a moment of happiness and in times of sorrow. It leaves our space and world behind And lightly soars to Heaven's distant realms. Sometimes it seems that Heaven is silent, And we hear nothing but our own voice. Yet prayer to God will always reach its goal, Nothing can ever turn it away. Prayer to Heaven—a reliable bridge That stretches across a sea of temptations, When we take a step along it— Jesus comes to meet us always.
