The Temptations of Prophets. Messiah
Jesus remained silent. Matthew 26:63
"Who struck you, Jesus? If you are a prophet, tell us!" Cunning words of temptation Writhed like serpents.
"Come, show us a miracle!" "Well, where is your power?" The burning kiss of Judas... Peter leaving the courtyard...
The gates creak with betrayal, A servant sweeps the trash... Soon the rooster will crow, About belated repentance.
"Who struck you?" — through the bars Rang shameless laughter. He had to remain silent now, Though he knew everyone's names.
Such is the law of prophecy— Unchanging through all ages— You speak not what you wish, But what God speaks.
And it is terrible, when in the annals Of strangers' lawless deeds Historians recorded, Like a verdict: "The Lord was silent!"
The wife of Pilate cannot sleep... Peter cannot hold back tears... Judas's soul is matted, And the silver burns his core...
A wind wandered through the courtyard, From the fire thin smoke rose... Despised and beaten, The Prophet spoke with mighty silence!
