He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. Psalms 17:20
I witnessed the healing of a soul In the moment when Hope was fading... The Lord said to the soul: soul, breathe! The soul obeyed and breathed...
And they said: "Death has claimed its prize!" And they said: "It's finished, that's the end!"... The soul will depart, like so many others Who vanished into oblivion, one by one.
But such was not this soul! Rising above the fallen pride, In prayer it turned, barely breathing, To Him who had preserved it till now.
Weak lips uttered words That shook the cosmos without sound: "I believe in the blood of crucified Christ! I am a sinner! I need justification!"...
And heeding the plea of a dying soul, Parting the ages, spaces, and deadlines, The Lord rushed to the soul's aid— Like lightning from the west unto the east.
He swaddled its weakened spirit— As a mother her child. He healed it with forgiveness, Opened eyes to light, and ears to truth For the Word, mind and heart for communion.
The shell of half a century shattered, That had mercilessly confined this soul, And it became easier to speak with the soul, And easier to listen to it.
The Most High dried its tears, Filled the heart with unprecedented peace... I witnessed the resurrection of a soul! Happy, it rose from its knees...
