Miervaldis Dreyers

He was baptized in the fellowship of Evangelical Christians-Baptists in 1975. He has been living in the USA since 1990. His father was Latvian, and his mother was Russian according to her passport (in reality, if you look into it, more likely Belarusian). Although he never lived in Latvia, his unforgettable father taught him the Latvian language. Still, his native language, of course, remains Russian. Recently, he translated from English Isabella Alden’s (Pansy’s) book “To the End” (Unto the End). This Christian writer is already familiar to Russian readers through the books “Esther Ried,” “Julia Ried,” “Tim and His Lamp.” He is now waiting for the Lord to send a publisher who would publish his translation. The book “To the End” tells about Eunice, the daughter of a rural pastor, who married a young man from the city, also a church member, Burton Landis. But she suffered a cruel disappointment. Nevertheless, she remained faithful to her unworthy husband and managed to raise children for the Lord. He thinks this book will be very useful for our time, when divorces among God’s children are becoming, alas, almost as common as in the sinful world. The excerpt offered to the reader begins with how Eunice Landis began to realize what her husband actually represented.
