Andrey Yakovlevich Prokopchuk

Andrei Yakovlevich Prokopchuk (July 16, 1896, Chemyory village, Grodno Governorate – 1970) was a Soviet and Belarusian dermatologist and venereologist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR (1940), Doctor of Medical Sciences (1936), and professor (1931). He was honored as a Distinguished Scientist of the BSSR (1944). A graduate of Moscow State University’s medical faculty (1923), he led key medical institutions in Minsk and founded the Belarusian school of dermatovenereology. He authored over 230 scientific works and five monographs, and was awarded the Orders of Lenin and the Red Banner of Labor.
