Serhei Kushnar

Sergey was born in 1961 in the city of Novorossiysk (Russia), but considers Kazakhstan his homeland, where he moved with his parents, where he grew up, studied, was baptized, married, and where his children were born. Growing up in a Christian family, he attended the ECB (Evangelical Christian Baptist) church since childhood. “For me, this is an unforgettable, happy time,” Sergey recalls.

His family moved to America in December 2000. Currently, Sergey works as a truck driver and devotes all his free time to reflections on life and faith, on relationships with the Lord. Somehow, poems came naturally. Then he mentally “met” with Jesus’ disciples, with the heroes of parables, with the prodigal son, and he was so captivated by this that he began to record all these “meetings” by hand in a notebook.

“What I write cannot be called poetry,” says the author. “It’s just an individual narration of biblical truths in the first person, in modern terms, a stand-up. This form of presenting information makes biblical stories accessible to listeners. What I recite by heart is my vow to God. Since He gave me life and gave me memory, I will use this for His Glory.”
