Alexander Saveliev

Alexander Saveliev
“My creative biography,” writes the author, “is unremarkable. Like most, in school years there were the first attempts to surprise the world with some talent. I sent my ‘masterpieces’ to ‘Pionerskaya Pravda.’ Responses refusing to print my poems ‘…because of their clumsiness and the need to work on them seriously’ offended the poet, and I parted with creativity for a long time.” At sixteen, when Alexander had an encounter with the Lord, his values and aspirations changed. Happiness appeared in his life, which he wanted to share with others. Thus, by the age of twenty, he returned to poetry. He returned more mature, understanding that the Muse loves the hardworking. Attending monthly meetings of a literary studio under the guidance of A.I. Neufeld, he learned the rules of poetics. He learned to listen to criticism, to cross out and rewrite words and lines. And the learning process, in fact, is not finished today. After all, there is always something and someone to learn from.
After moving to the USA, Saveliev’s first collection of poems “Nature Reserve” was published. “This is a world into which not everyone is admitted,” says Alexander, “but I was not afraid to open my inner world to the reader. The second collection ‘What if tomorrow…’ was inspired by pain and worries about peers who go to the other world without God’s forgiveness. The highest reward for my few works I want to see is changed lives of people. Let it be so!”
