Alexander Polishchuk

Alexander Polishchuk is from Ukraine. Even at school age, he fell in love with literature, read a lot, and wrote poems, which he didn’t show to anyone, just for himself. Living in a country where everyone said that God doesn’t exist, he often pondered about the universe and always searched for God. In his youth, a personal encounter with the Almighty occurred when he first crossed the threshold of a church. Feelings of joy and answers to many philosophical questions overwhelmed him and, unexpectedly for the poet, poured out line by line on paper.

In the Zhytomyr church, a poetry evening was organized for young people, where Alexander, along with other local and visiting poets, was able to share the poems he had written. Christian singers and musicians from the neighboring city of Vinnytsia were present at the evening. That’s where the meeting took place – for a lifetime! – with a talented girl named Oksana, who soon became his wife. And in 1989, Alexander with his wife Oksana and little daughter Inna moved to the USA.

During the years spent together, many joint songs appeared – with Alexander’s lyrics and Oksana’s music. For a long time, the couple lived and worked in the House of the Gospel in San Francisco. Now they live in Sacramento. To this day, Alexander and Oksana are always creating for the glory of the Creator; recently, another new song appeared – “Ode of Thanksgiving,” which included the words:

Another sunset, another dawn…
And there is no end to the movement of new life.
The divine covenant, eternal and severe,
Innumerable years.
