Alexander Zaletsky

When on May 25, 1956, two months premature, I was born, the midwife who delivered my mother said: “He won’t live”… However, her predictions did not come true. I survived! Thanks to the efforts of my grandmother and parents. I survived, but at the age of five, I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Paralysis. My legs completely disobeyed me and flatly refused to carry my body. My parents were in despair, doctors were helpless, and only my grandmother prayed intensely to God about me. And He heard! A doctor was found who performed two operations on me, and I got on my feet.

I began writing poems in childhood. But it was all helpless and not serious, although teachers praised… Everything changed on October 7, 1993. I found myself in the Baptist church “Hope.” Here I first heard a sermon about Christ. During the singing of Mikhail Lermontov’s “Prayer,” something strange began to happen to me. And when I was invited to study the Word with those who were preparing for baptism, after hearing the verse from Romans 6:23, I fell to my knees and repented. That’s how I met the living Jesus Christ! Since then and to this day, I serve the Lord in the “Hope” church and praise Him in poems and songs.
