George Amegin

George Amegin
One of the few emigrants who came to California from China, slightly earlier than the Loktev family. George’s father was at the origins of the First Slavic Church. It was he who invited the Karpets family in 1964 to move from Canada to Sacramento, where they arrived in early February 1965, and from that time the small group began to grow and soon organized as the First Slavic Evangelical Baptist Church. Before that, the group was called the Evangelical Russian Mission in Sacramento.
